What Maypole Offers to staff

About Maypole

We are a growing school and we expect to be recruiting slowly but steadily, throughout the year. We will be seeking Teachers and Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join our team on an ongoing basis; and we are also seeking an Occupational Therapist and a Speech and Language Therapist.

We are a highly motivated team who are passionate about helping our pupils to succeed, in spite of other schools having been unable to do so. This isn’t the easiest job in the world, but if you’re right for us, then it’s one of the most rewarding experiences.

"Thank you, I really, really love it here. You've built my confidence and I now feel a lot more confident in my role."

                                                             (Teaching Assistant, Oct 2023)

What we offer

We offer:

  • A competitive salary, for 39 working weeks / year (term time only); plus 5 1/2 weeks paid holiday.
  • Two well-being days off per year
  • Breakfast and school lunch are available free to all staff
  • Excellent training and staff development, including the possibility of becoming a Qualified Teacher
  • Be part of a really motivated team
  • Real opportunities for promotion as the school grows
  • A competitive pension scheme

Previous teaching experience

Previous teaching experience will be an advantage initially; but is not necessary. We will provide comprehensive training, and support to help you learn. In the longer term, your motivation and passion will be far more important than whether you have previous teaching experience.

Holidays

Please note that holidays may not be taken in term-time.

"I've never worked in a place that is so supportive and understanding."

 (Teaching Assistant, Nov 2023)

"Staff are overwhelmingly positive about leaders' support for their workload, well-being and professional development. They value being part of a new and developing school and are fully committed to supporting their pupils."
